Active Ageing

According to the World Health Organisation 'Active ageing is the process of optimizing opportunities for health, participation and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age.... Active ageing aims to extend healthy life expectancy and quality of life for all people as they age.'

The benefits of physical activity encompasses physical, mental and emotional well-being. Activity programs in Residential Aged Care include physical activity,such as regular walking groups and exercise programs. No matter how old you are, you will always benefit from physical activity.

The World Congress on Active Ageing will be held in Melbourne in the middle of 2016.
