Elder Abuse

WHO reports that around 10% of older people may have experienced 'elder abuse'. Elder abuse can occur when someone in a position of trust takes advantage of a vulnerable older person. It includes physical, sexual, psychological or financial abuse or neglect. The Age Discrimination Commissioner, Susan Ryan, is actively raising awareness of this issue.  More information can be found in the link below to an article in 'The Age'.
